London conducted by Laurence Siegel. Following the success of his Swan Lake in 1875, Tchaikovsky was commissioned to write the score for another ballet based on a fairy tale by Charles Perrault. The Sleeping Beauty is now a classic and we heard one of Tchaikovsky's best known waltzes from act one of the ballet.
